Charles II carved walnut armchair
An important Baroque Charles II carved walnut framed armchair, the caned back with scrolling acanthus carved frame on barley-twist supports with pineapple finials, the swept open arms with acanthus carved scroll ends on barley-twist supports, the caned seat with blind fretwork carved scrolling foliate decoration, raised on block and barley-twist supports united by barley-twist stretchers. The patina, colour and figure are all quite exceptional.
