Pair of Chinese Early 20th. Century Orange Glazed Porcelain Vases   Pair of Chinese early 20th. Century Orange Glazed Porcelain Vases These vases are from Jianxi Province, Jingdezhen, known as the porcelain capital of China where production started some 1800 years ago during the Eastern Han Dynasty. The understanding of glazes and symbolism is clear. The ubiquitous rebus or visual pun of the orange colour symbolising happiness and love with the orange fruit and blossom representing purity and innocence is well shown. The Crane is associated with health, happiness and a lasting spirit and when depicted with pine trees  also demonstrates determination, power and wealth.
