George II Mahogany Drop-Leaf Dining Table A superb highly figured George II Drop-leaf Dining Table, the three panel top of heavy, early plum-pudding type Mahogany and with two swing out legs to each leaf, the six turned legs terminating in pad feet. The weight of this table is very substantial and is a sure sign of outstanding quality. It will seat eight when opened. Timbers of this quality would have commanded the highest prices in the 18th. Century and show that this model of table would have been made for a substantial home. It would have stood in the dining room against the wall taking up very little room at only 15” deep and would have been one of several such which could be opened and stood end to end according to the number of guests expected.
