Superb Regency mahogany bow fronted sideboard
A spectacular Regency period flame figured Mahogany bow fronted sideboard with a splash gallery containing drawers above the lobed top , the frieze with a central drawer above a napery slide flanked by ring turned reeded columns, a deep drawer to the right, and a cupboard to the left side, the whole raised on ring turned, tapered reeded legs terminating in ball feet. Ca.1820
The quality of the timbers used in this combined with the outstanding reeded columns and legs suggest an attribution to Gillows of Lancaster.
Provenance: This sideboard was for many years in the Royal Box at Cheltenham Racecourse where many generations of The Royal Family would have been served meals from it whilst enjoying the Sport of Kings
