Pair of George III Giltwood Salon Armchairs, newly reupholstered in blue moire silk.

H:37”, 94 cms, W:24”, 61 cms, D:25.75”,65.5 cms.

A superb Pair of George III Period Carved Giltwood Salon Armchairs in the Neoclassical taste, the oval backs surmounted by a crisply carved looped ribbon and flanked by scrolling, shaped arms with padded elbow rests, the serpentine seats above a carved frieze with a crisply carved looped ribbon flanked by hatch carved panels and the whole raised on turned fluted legs with crisply carved paterae to the stiles.
