An excellent Set of 10 Regency Period Mahogany Dining Room Chairs, comprising eight side chairs and two carvers. The reeded top rails feature superb quality flame figured mahogany inlay and are flanked by reeded uprights and arms above reeded turned centre rails. The stuff over upholstered seats are raised on elegant reeded sabred legs. NIce heavy quality mahogany timber used throughout the chair construction. Newly reupholstered in the traditional manner with damask fabric to the seats. The design of this large set of dining chairs featuring a classic swept sabre leg to the fore, and also to the rear, is very much in keeping with Regency Period high society’s taste for sabre design motifs which signal Nelson’s contemporary battle victory at Trafalgar.
